Sarke Chunar: Nora Fatehi–Sanjay Dutt’s New Song Faces Legal Action Over Vulgar Lyrics

New Delhi: Amid the escalating controversy around Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt’s newly released song 'Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke', a legal action has been taken against the objectionable content.

The song 'Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke' is from the film 'KD: The Devil', also features Sanjay Dutt and Nora Fatehi. The song sparked controversy online after the clip went viral on social media platform X. It drew much attention online and and many called it double-meaning lyrics. It is worthy to be mentioned here that the lyrics of the song Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke were written by Raqueeb Alam.

What is the case?

After much backlash on the social media platform, the concerned authority has decided to take legal action against the makers. In a latest update, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued a legal notice over the alleged use of objectionable content in the track.

According to the news agency PTI, Sarke Chunar from KD The Devil is the focus of outrage for its sexually explicit lyrics with all-round criticism and the song itself disappearing from the official YouTube page though it was played endlessly and shared on social media.

It is to be noted here that the video of the Hindi song, was released on YouTube two days ago and quickly went viral for its shock value. The song has come to the notice of the Information and Broadcasting Ministry and there are plans to send a notice to YouTube since the film itself has not been released, a government source told PTI.

When will the film release?

It is to be mentioned here that the Kannada film, KD: The Devil, is dubbed in four languages and is slated to release on April 30. The film is helmed by Prem. Apart from Sanjay Dutt and Nora Fatehi, the film also features Dhruva Sarja. Earlier, the film was scheduled to release in September, 2025, but got postponed later. The film also cast Shilpa Shetty, Reeshma Nanaiah, V Ravichandran, Ramesh Aravind, and Jisshu Sengupta in prominent roles.

Taking to X, Bollywood singer Armaan Malik wrote, "This showed up on my timeline and I had to replay it just to make sure I heard it right. Sad to see commercial songwriting hit a new low (sic)."
